Strong teams don’t just follow a score. They find their groove 🎵

You can play 300 notes a second? Great! – Nobody cares. Ok, a few people might be impressed. But listen. The audience doesn’t judge how skillfully you play your instrument. They care about the impact you have on their mental and emotional state. How do you make them feel – do you make them feel something? What resonates?

What truly matters, as musicians, is opening your heart. Expressing your feelings, your inner self, within the group. Beyond the groove of the music itself, this creates what I call an inner groove: an energizing, unique connection with each other 💛

I see the same thing in coaching.

You’ve probably read posts or articles about why coaching works. The methods, tools, and frameworks play a role. But what makes the real difference is the relationship between the people in the room – which might be online, of course.

I emphasize this in my approach. It’s about how we relate to each other. Through appreciation, resonance, and – exactly! – finding our shared inner groove.

So let me ask you: how does this show up at your workplace?

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” But let’s not argue over who’s eating whom – both are essential for a team and a business to thrive.

When it comes to culture, what I keep coming back to is this: a shared sense of purpose. One that keeps people curious, creative, and actually enjoying what they’re doing. Hot take: when that’s in place, performance becomes a natural byproduct 🔥

That’s why, in coaching, you reflect on the shared values and culture within your team, department, organization, partnership, or family. It helps you build real relationships with the people who matter most to you – and find a common groove.

Over time, you create a sense of belonging:

A space where people both value and challenge each other. Where cooperation, self-organization, and new ideas flow naturally.

Once you truly Go With Your Groove, it’s time to orchestrate. Next up: how do we design for flow, focus, and freedom? 🎼
